"Makronee !!" was my reply every Sunday when ammi used to ask what should she prepare for breakfast :)
Only recently I got to know that its a kind a pasta commonly knows as 'Macroni' but who cares, for me its the tastiest Indian recipe filled with spices and homely flavours .
It is a mandatory dish in most of the occasions or events in my family :)
Makronee ONLY tastes good with Chicken/Mutton/Prawns(my fav) !!
We(Ammi and I) learnt to make this awesome dish from my aunt and here it goes...

We(Ammi and I) learnt to make this awesome dish from my aunt and here it goes...
You need:
- Macroni (available in any local stores. Try Bambino/MTR) - 2 cups
- Onions - 3 medium
- Ginger-Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
- Tomatoes - 1 medium
- Coriander leaves - for flavour
- Pudina - for flavour
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Red Chilli Powder - 1sp
- Salt
- Coconut Milk (6:1 ratio of macroni)
- Oil - 3 tbsp
- Mutton/Chicken/Prawns - as much you want
How:
In a pressure cooker, fry chopped onions in oil and add ginger-garlic paste. Add chopped tomatoes , pudina, coriander leaves and all dry masala and cook for 5 mins . Now add the Chicken/Mutton/Prawns and simmer for 10 mins.
Now add the macroni and add coconut milk good enough to cook macroni and meat. Now add salt and close the lid and wait for 2 whistles.
To achieve yummyness :
- Always serve with boiled eggs !
- Do not add water .Only use thin coconut milk !
- If mutton is used then first cook mutton and at last add macroni !
- Tastes good when soupy , so do not try to condense !
Enjoy this simple dish with friends or family :)
